Beginning with a regional focus on Latin America, it discusses global perspectives and North-South interdependencies. The political and economic aspects of conflicts over the use of raw materials are examined, as well as the associated inequalities and power structures. At the same time, the book aims to present alternatives to the prevailing discourse on sustainability and development. The exploitation of raw materials and its ecological and social consequences are addressed as phenomena linked to a colonial past. This portfolio is particularly intended for geography and social science subjects and offers methodologically varied teaching modules for secondary levels I and II that can be combined depending on the target group and time frame.
