The Immigrant Nations workbook addresses migration as a social, political, historical, and economic phenomenon in an increasingly globalized world. The materials examine immigration policies and migration regimes in North America, encouraging students to explore the complex motivations and experiences of emigration. By using selected locations and spaces where the various dimensions and facets of migration can be represented in condensed form (e.g., Toronto, Canada; New York, USA; and the US-Mexican borderlands), the workbook provides insights into the historical and current significance of migration processes in the Americas. The portfolio is designed as a modular system and contains materials and teaching suggestions for advanced English language instruction from grade 9 onwards.
