The Ensayos InterAmericanos series consists of shorter monographs written in the literary form of the essay. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the books address historical and contemporary socio-political issues in the Americas. They are dedicated to a broader social audience beyond specialist discussions. Published in Spanish or German, the volumes deal with topics such as migration, education, environmental policy, cultural production, feminism, and ethnicity. They analyze transnational transfer and interconnection processes that shape the region's social realities. At the time of publication, the authors were affiliated with the Center for InterAmerican Studies (CIAS) at Bielefeld University. Kipu-Verlag publishes the series as both a print edition and a freely accessible e-book. The series is the result of the second funding phase of the BMBF-funded research project, "The Americas as an Space of Entanglements," at Bielefeld University (2017–2019).
