The teaching folder 'People. Use. Nature. Dealing with natural resource wealth in Latin America' uses various case studies to examine the different ways in which people utilise nature and the resulting conflicts. Starting from the regional focus on Latin America, global perspectives, interdependencies and North-South interdependencies are addressed.<\/p>\n
It looks at political and economic aspects of disputes over the use of raw materials and highlights the associated inequalities and power structures. At the same time, the aim is to discuss alternatives to the dominant discourse on sustainability and development concepts. The exploitation of raw materials and the resulting ecological and social consequences are thematised as a phenomenon that is linked to a colonial past.
\nThe folder is aimed in particular at the subjects of geography and social sciences and offers individual, methodically varied teaching modules for lower and upper secondary schools, which can be combined with each other depending on the target group and time frame.<\/p>\n
