Most current studies on the topic of "Literature and Borders in the Americas" focus on the relationship between Mexico and the United States. However, this project addresses other points of contact, such as the region between Guatemala and Mexico. Building on the theoretical framework of the border paradigm (US-Mexico), I explore the applicability of these concepts to the border region examined in this study. The analysis begins with the concepts of the third space (Soja), borderlands (Anzaldúa), and hybrid cultures (Canclini). The border between Mexico and Guatemala is a kind of triple border, where the notions of border desire and border terror enter into a new relationship with each other. Literary production in the region plays an important role in amplifying the voices of those living on the border. Independent and cartonera publishers provide an ideal channel for connecting literary productions from both sides of the border. However, this raises the question of how the border and its dynamics are represented in cultural products. This article emphasizes the importance of discussing the border and its literature from an inter-American perspective.
