Polifonías del Antropoceno Las estéticas del cuidado como alternativa

It is urgent to reflect on crises. Modern rationality has not been enough to change the behaviors and policies of the modern, colonial, capitalist, and patriarchal world system. The crises of the Anthropocene are ecological, biological, health-related, political, and economic, but also anthropological, ethical, and aesthetic. This essay is based on a series of workshops on Aesthetics of Care for the Anthropocene held with various groups, mainly in the Guadalajara metropolitan area (Mexico) between December 2022 and February 2023. Through embodied and collective imagination, the workshops addressed topics such as our problems in inhabiting our worlds, interspecies coexistence, and strategies for ensuring the habitability of the planet, among others. This essay presents the aesthetics of care as a practice-theory that opens up spaces for creating alternatives to the crises of the Anthropocene.
